Cope with French
incl. p & p.
When learning French, it would be so easy if you could simply substitute English words for French words and the meaning was the same.
Well, William, Duke of Normandy unwittingly made this possible after his invasion of England in 1066. The invasion resulted in many French words being transferred into the English language. Some are still in use today, 950 years later.
(FACT: Before 1066 it was not possible for there to be an invasion of England as the word invasion is French and did not exist before this date ..... are you getting my drift.)
This is good news for those of you taking French language lessons as 'Cope with French' can increase your French vocabulary by 8,500 words.
